Our Transition Team, whose assignment is to meet with and support the staff, has been meeting each week, prayerfully. We have been asking GOD for wisdom and guidance as we begin this process. We also believe patience is needed as we continue to not only support the staff, but work to lead the church congregation and staff in the direction of our church
Right now, we are thankful for our faithful pastors and a strong board who all want the best for our church. The only decision we’ve agreed to as of today is that each pastor’s current title will remain as they are through the transition period. No lead pastor will be named until the transition team has followed the procedures outlined in the Nazarene Manual, including a member vote. As we have met for hours at a time for several weeks now, we don’t know how long we will be in this transition, but we recognize we need to take time to be diligent, pray and refocus. We will be mindful to not rush into any decisions.
While we cannot give you a definite timeline, the Transition Team has agreed, we do plan on staying in transition for at least a few months. We all know that sometimes GOD’s plan looks different, so we will follow His as He leads us.
We ask that you keep this team in prayer throughout this time of transition. Should you have any questions, please reach out to any of us. We plan on regularly briefing the congregation on Sundays to be transparent in this process. Thank you.
